Surprised Birdbrain - FTHS sketch (no. 111)

Since I bought some new markers last weekend, I have been trying to find some cute digital images that I could first print, then color (heart) and finally use on my cards !!

I came across the "From The Heart Stamps" shop and website (FTHS) and fell in love with all the cute images over there !! I've bought a couple of them to start with and put a few others on "my wishlist" as well :-D

I also noticed that there are regular challenges with the FTHS digi-stamps, so I thought I'd give it a try right away !

They currently have a challenge running : a sketch challenge with a twist (no.111).

Because I was having sooo much fun, I ended up making two cards with the same sketch !

(The coloring itself proved to be harder than I initially thought it would be, and my images are currently not as streakless as I had hoped for ...so, I'll definitely *need* more digi's to refine my techniques ...)

I did not put a sentiment on the cards at this point, because I have not yet decided what I am going to use them for, but I can always add some text or label later, right ?

I wonder which one of the two you like the best ?

Thinking of you - Chameleon pens

Helllloooooo everyone !

True, it's been a long while since I've posted here, but today I'm back !!

Last weekend I have bought myself a set of Chameleon pens !! The full set !! And I have enjoyed using them sooooooo much already !! I'm still learning it, but I'm already LOVING it !!

On the site (chameleonpens.com), there is even plenty of information, video's and tutorials about how to use these amazing pens. The card that I am going to show you below has been made by following a FREE tutorial by illustrator Dave Antram. But there is lots more included in the monthly newsletter as well !

The colors I used for the two bears are Violet, Brown and Coco, but you can create a lot of depth because of the changing color tone of each pen !

The little flower at the bottom has not been colored with these pens, but had been colored before with some watercolor pencils ...

Well, I hope you are just as enthusiast about this card as I am !!

Oh ! And of course I am constantly looking for new (digi-)stamps that are fun to color now ! I think I'm going to check the Simon Says Stamp site and maybe a few others too !

I would like to enter my card on the Simon Wednesday Challenge blog, but was amazed that there were already over 800 entries there !! It will be a great source for inspiration to scroll through all the other cards that have been uploaded before !

Meljen's Design - "stitched country heart"

For such a long time I have hoped to be able to play along with one of the Weekend Mini Challenges over at Meljen's Designs Club and now I've finally had a few spare moments to join !! Yaaaay !!!

I know, it's a very Clean And Simple (CAS) card, I just wanted to have a few quick mini cards to enclose in my outgoing mail, and the stitched country heart is just perfect to thank my friends for being part of my life :-) !!

Lift challenge # 72

Wat is het alweer superlang geleden dat ik hier nog iets gepost heb !

Maar het kriebelde al een hele tijd om nog eens wat kaarten te maken, dus toen ik de leuke lift challenge zag op het gelijknamige blog, ben ik er eindelijk nog eens in gevlogen :-)

Mijn kaartje is er eentje om op te sturen naar een penne-vriendin uit de UK, ik ben nu al benieuwd wat ze er van vindt ;-)

But my fingers had been itching for a long time to start making some more cards again, so when I saw the cool lift challenge on the blog, I decided to give it a go again ;-)

I've made my card for one of my pen pals living in the UK, I wonder what she will think of it and hope she will like it ;-)

"C" for Cats and Cozy Moments

There's a Cool Challenge over at Meljen's blog this week, use elements on your card that begin with the  letter of your first name, in my Case it's a "C" :).

The "C" stands for Cats and Cozy moments in my Cards :

The digital image I used is "Mother Cat" from Meljen's shop. Such a cutie, isn't it ??

Butterflies & Flowers

Om te beginnen een hele leuke vrijdag gewenst aan iedereen die dit leest, maak er ondanks het 'mistroostige' weertje van tegenwoordig toch maar het beste van hé ;-)

De kaartjes die ik jullie vandaag wil laten zien heb ik gemaakt volgens de leuke sketch van het KIC (Kaartjes - Inspiratie - Challenge) - blog.

Dit zijn uiteindelijk mijn creaties geworden :

Het zijn voor de verandering eens kaartjes in vintage stijl geworden. Zoiets had ik tot nu toe nog niet gemaakt.

Hieronder zie je ze nog eens alle drie op een rij.
(Ze zijn gelijkend en toch weer allemaal nèt een tikkeltje anders.)

Ik zou met dit kaartje graag mijn kans wagen bij de volgende Challenges :

• KIC-challenge 7 : volgens sketch
• GE-WE Hobbychallenge : vlinders

Werkwijze

En hier dan eventjes kort hoe ik te werk gegaan ben...

Eerst maak ik een soort van 'digitale compositie' van de kaart die ik wil gaan samenstellen.

Dit doe ik met een app genoemd 'Artboard', mocht je je even vervelen, dan kan je dat eens gaan 'googlen') - ik ben er helemaal wèg van ! Ik weet wel niet of er ook een windows versie van is ??

Als mijn compositie een beetje 'naar wens' geworden is, dan maak ik een afdrukje van alle afzonderlijke elementen en kan ik daarna alles in elkaar gaan knutselen met mijn digitaal gemaakte afdruk als voorbeeld, zo weet ik al hoe het uiteindelijke resultaat er ongeveer zal uit zien ...

En hier zijn mijn favoriete 'bronnen' om kaartjes (èn briefpapier) te maken, want zoals sommige van jullie misschien al weten,  hou ik me behalve met knutselen ook nog bezig met briefwisseling naar buitenlandse vrienden en dan schrijf ik het liefst op mooi, kunstig of lekker grappig papier, maar liefst ook zo afwisselend en origineel mogelijk ;-) De afdrukjes van deze kaartjes heb ik onder meer hier aangetroffen :

• http://freevintagedigistamps.blogspot.be - en hier is ook dagelijks nieuw gratis materiaal te vinden.

De twee labels die ik gebruikte voor bovenstaande kaartjes zal ik als downloads beschikbaar stellen op mijn blog in een apart tabblad met freebies - het is de bedoeling om daar in de toekomst nog geregeld labels of wat andere elementen aan toe te voegen :)

Zo, dat was dan alweer mijn vrij uitgebreide blogberichtje van vandaag :)

Meljen's Design challenge # 160 : words with friends

En hier zijn we al terug :)
Ik had beloofd om vanaf heden terug wat vaker van me te laten horen, dus vandaag plaats ik graag mijn bijdrage voor de huidige Challenge 160 bij Meljen's Design : words with friends.
Ik vind de digitale stempels van Melissa héérlijk om mee aan de slag te gaan !!!
De stempel die ik hier gebruikt heb is gratis verkrijgbaar in de shop !! Fantastisch, niet ??!!

Back in town

Na een hele lange tijd niet meer geblogd èn geknutseld te hebben, ben ik hier eindelijk terug met een eerste creatie.
Terug aanwezig in "blogland" dus, joepiiieee !!!

Ik vond de uitdaging 185 bij Dutch Card Lovers deze keer ZO leuk, dat ik absoluut ook mijn bijdrage wilde leveren...
èn bovendien was het gewoon FANTASTISCH LEUK om nog eens een kaartje in elkaar te knutselen !!

Ik heb er zelf enorm veel plezier aan beleefd en ben best wel tevreden met het eindresultaat :)
Ik heb de smaak nu denk ik wel terug te pakken, dus hopelijk volgt er binnenkort terug wat meer nieuws van me !!
