First Christmas Card

Today I want to show you one of the first Christmas cards I've made this season ...

Maybe it's a little early to start posting Holiday themed cards, but I've recently bought this cute Christmas Lights Snail image in Meljen's shop and I couldn't wait any longer to create something with it.

I loved coloring the digi very much although I realize it's not perfect, but I struggled so much composing the card and there are a couple of things that went wrong, oh well,  imperfections can be charming too I hope ;-)

Meljen's Design - "stitched country heart"

For such a long time I have hoped to be able to play along with one of the Weekend Mini Challenges over at Meljen's Designs Club and now I've finally had a few spare moments to join !! Yaaaay !!!

I know, it's a very Clean And Simple (CAS) card, I just wanted to have a few quick mini cards to enclose in my outgoing mail, and the stitched country heart is just perfect to thank my friends for being part of my life :-) !!

"C" for Cats and Cozy Moments

There's a Cool Challenge over at Meljen's blog this week, use elements on your card that begin with the  letter of your first name, in my Case it's a "C" :).

The "C" stands for Cats and Cozy moments in my Cards :

The digital image I used is "Mother Cat" from Meljen's shop. Such a cutie, isn't it ??

Snail mail tags

Hello again,

Here's my second post for today ...

These are some snail mail tags I've created and colored last night.
























I would like to participate with them in Meljen's current challenge - Tag You're it.

I used three of my favorite Meljen's digital images, because they are all related with 'mail' ;-)

I created them in Artboard, printed them out and then colored them with coloring crayons...

I guess most of you know that I am also into pen palling, so the tags will be very useful :D

Opposites attract

Opposites attract....that's the new challenge at Meljen's Designs and I also believe there's a lot of truth in that :) - how about you ??

I've made.....oh yes.....another birthday card, cause that's the kind of cards I need the most in my collection. I really had so much fun today, while creating the card. I recently bought a book about cutting patterns in (origami) or other folding paper. I remember having done this in my childhood years as well, cutting folded paper with 'random' patterns at that time ;-). It is really so cool to do this again and it makes for cute elements that can be used on cards (think of leaves, flowers, borders, and so on) !!

I used a few of those elements on my current card and used the digi called 'cup of sunshine' - I really think this one is gonna be one of my favorites to use on cards !! I colored it with some of my copics and added some pearls to add a little bit of 'bling' to the card.

I used the opposite colors Red & Green of the color wheel :

Below is the book I was talking about, which holds hundreds of beautiful cutting patterns that can be used for many different purposes (home decoration, birthday & other parties, all kinds of craft projects, ..). The original title of the book is "Lady Boutique Series No. 3346" and the author is Akiko Murooka. Maybe it can inspire some of you for future craft projects ?

Meljen's Design Challenge # 162 : Color Challenge

Hello fellow bloggers :),

So...I think I only have a few hours left to participate in the current challenge at Meljen's Design Blog and here's the card I made for that occasion. So I'm gonna keep my text rather short this time around ;-).

I've decided to make another Birthday card, this time with the cute "Fancy Gift Box" digi that I bought in her shop a few days ago :). I like to make cards based on color combo's and/or sketches.

I hope the colors used for my card match the colors of the picture below well enough ;-)

Oma Dee schets #6 & birds

Bij Oma Dee zag ik deze maand de volgende leuke schets :

En hoewel de uitdaging bijna afgelopen is (vrijdag 31 mei) wou ik toch ook nog graag even mijn kans wagen :). Dus snel zijn is de boodschap !! Neem vlug maar eens een kijkje, want er valt een originele prijs te winnen ;-) -> niet dat we enkel daarvoor hoeven mee te doen natuurlijk, 't blijft (althans voor mij) vooral een hobby die ik doe voor de fun !!

Ik wou ook absoluut eens iets uitproberen met m'n nieuwe digi's van bij Meljen's Design die ik afgelopen weekend aangekocht heb. Er was 25% korting op de volledige collectie, dus dat was een uitgelezen kans om mijn collectie een (klein) beetje uit te breiden. (want ook daar zou ik later graag nog aan verschillende challenges willen mee doen). Deze keer gebruikte ik de digi Birds Little Letter.

Ach !! Genoeg gepraat (alweer) waarschijnlijk ? hihi, over naar m'n creatie nu :)

Hmmm, ik moet er eerlijk bij bekennen dat deze keer niet alles van een leien dakje verliep... Ik heb heel wat zitten 'prutsen' deze keer om eerst mijn schets naar wens te krijgen en vervolgens alles een klein beetje te laten samen passen van kleur en zo meer. Ik heb ondertussen ook gemerkt dat ik toch best eens een kleine extra investering zou doen om wat verschillende soorten "bloemetjes-decoratie" aan te schaffen ...weeral een reden om nog eens lekker te gaan shoppen, nietwaar ???
(daar kan ik trouwens telkens wel weer een andere/nieuwe reden voor bedenken hoor)

Wat mijn vorige berichtje betreft - ivm de nieuwe layout van m'n blog - dat is eigenlijk niet langer van tel. Gelukkig maar, want er was ook niet veel (lees -> geen) respons op LOL...tjaah... en aangezien geduld ook alweer niet mijn sterkste kant is, ben ik dan zelf maar eens op ontdekkingstocht gegaan ...dan kwam ik al vlug uit op Shabbyblogs.com en na wat uittesten en doen, denk ik dat het er (voorlopig) wel okay uit ziet ? niet ? Tot ik weer maar eens wat anders wil natuurlijk ;-).

Eerst en vooral bedankt voor de leuke reacties op m'n vorige kaartjes ! Ik waardeer die enorm en kijk er altijd erg naar uit om ze te lezen !! 

For starters, thanks for your lovely comments on my previous cards ! They are very much appreciated and I'm always looking very much forward to read them !!

Hieronder de verjaardagskaartjes die ik de afgelopen weken gemaakt heb. Ze zijn alle drie al op hun bestemming geraakt, dus ik kan ze eindelijk laten zien :). 

Below are the birthday cards I had been talking about in my last post, they all reached their destinations meanwhile, so I can finally show them on my blog now :)

Een tijdje terug had ik 4 afdrukjes bij Meljen's Designs gewonnen en deze stempel (Birthday Cup Mouse) is er ééntje van. Toen ik de website bekeek wist ik niet wat eerst te kiezen, ik vind alles wat ze aanbieden even schattig en leuk !!! Bedankt Melissa Jenkins (Meljen) !!

Met onderstaande kaart zou ik graag nog eens een kansje wagen bij Creanijn (Vicky). Ik vind het alweer een hele leuke challenge (een kaart met bolletjespapier) en heb daar al heel wat mooie creaties gezien van andere deelnemers ! Neem zeker en vast eens een kijkje ! Ik wist alleen niet zeker of het al dan niet een kerstkaart moest zijn ...

With the card below I'd like to take my chances at the Creanijn Card Challenge. It's a fun challenge (making a card using dotted paper) and I've seen a lot of beautiful cards from other participants over there ! It's certainly worth while a visit ! The only thing I was not sure of, was if it was supposed to be a Christmas card or not ....

Zo, dat was het voor wat betreft de verjaardagskaartjes. So, that was it for today again.

Binnenkort zou ik graag eens een creatie met vilt uitproberen ...iemand suggesties ?
Soon I'd like to try out a card using felt ....any suggestions ?
